I started and stopped this debt free journey quite a few times before really getting serious. It took having an honest conversation with myself and acknowledging that I was hustling backwards. Paying off debt here but racking it back up over there or dipping into the money I set aside for emergencies, as soon as I wanted to buy something or go somewhere.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When looking for expenses to trim to generate more cashflow in your budget, I always suggest evaluating necessary but controllable budget categories like groceries.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was definitely a thing. It wasn't until the 1960s that women gained the right to own a bank account and that wasn't that log ago. But it wasn't until 1974, with the passing of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, that single and divorced women were allowed to obtain credit without bringing a man to co-sign. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
